Earthquake: American Red Cross App Reviews

Good

Good app. Doesnt allow to search for locations outside the USA.

Locations incorrect.

My locations in the USA are pinpointed off the coast of Africa. They are listed correctly.

Map Is Better (updated 5-Jun-2016)

The map that showed where the recent earthquakes are is back! It is still difficult to send Feedback or Report a Bug. You have to make a mark with your finger on a blank screen before you select "T" to enter real text - but no reason for this odd request is given. (I put a "?" or a "!".)

The app crashes…cant find internet connection

The app will not allow me to update radius setting on alerts. It exits the program. The app will not allow me to remove locations because it cannot detect an Internet connection. Same when attempting to add a location.

Radius resets to 1 mile

Please fix the bug that was recently introduced that resets the notification radius to 1 mile as soon as the app is closed. This is the best earthquake notification app and is currently broken. I use this app to inform me of recent events. Please look into the issue and restore the awesome notification feature. Otherwise great app.

Fair

I have dropped my rating to 1 star. I have everything set correctly but I dont receive badge notifications anymore. Seems the developers have gone backwards for improving the app. If I have my radius and magnitude set it notifies me which is great. But there are a few problems since the update. It use to let me see details if I clicked on the alert but doesnt now. Also, it would show on the map where the epicenter was. Now it just shows the map of my monitored location. It would be nice if the app synced monitored locations and notification settings. As it exist now I have to set up each device individually. Fix these issues and Ill give 5 stars.

Works great.

Was able to easily add multiple locations and people where appropriate. Correctly identified/displayed a recent earthquake. The app works great!

Not useful

I wanted an app that would tell me if that was an earthquake I just felt, but updates are delayed too much and its faster for me to check the USGS site. Also, I have a fairly large region because I want to know if theres a if enough one a ways away that I might feel...but it keeps telling me about little ones. Tell me about just the big ones far away, but smaller ones close by. I want to know what I might actually have felt!

Great update

This app is great for warning me of earthquakes and giving me the information to prep.

Used to be good

It used to be great, but after some upgrades it pretty much became useless because it does not repeat your settings, want to default to other things, etc. I am uninstalling this

Adjust notifications

The app is ok - does what is needed. I wish there was a way to adjust when it sends me notifications. I live in Washington state where there are many earthquakes - often several a day. I dont need to know about earthquakes that measure 0.4, 0.6 on the scale. I think Seahawks fans can make bigger earthquakes than those! Would be great if I could adjust it to alert me only when earthquakes happen that are over 3 on the scale.

Lacking the last few months

Used to be a great app. My favorite was that there were verbal earthquake alerts; that has since disappeared. Also, he last few months, my radius resets to 0, even after saving, so I get zero alerts. There are definitely some bugs that need fixed. Now when trying to adjust my radius the app crashes. Ive deleted and reinstalled hoping something will be fixed. Either way, they need to take it back to how it was last year.

Super buggy

This version is very buggy and hasnt been monitoring locations, its not allowing me to add locations or people either. Red Cross you can do better. If our donor dollars are paying for this app then you need to fire the company that did it.

Crashes

Crashes when trying to make adjustments to radius. Previous version was ok. This one, not so much.

Not useful

We had a quake here in Cleveland County OK about 7:00 am this am (9/3/16). House shook, cabinet doors opened. It never happened according to this app.

Awesome App

People complaining about mag magnitude 0.2 being displayed all you need to do is go into the settings of the location youre monitoring and you can send it from 0.0 all way up to 10.0 and it only monitor anything above what you have it set at.

Earthquake App(Red Cross)

Very useful assistant for preparing for an earthquake!

Very poor app. Even worse since last update

Enough said in all other reviews. I agree the red cross can do better. People in southern California will, at some point in the near future, depend on this app. Shame on the Red cross for putting out such a poor product.

Data hog

Works okay but uses up a huge amount of data storage on my phone.

Has gotten worse over time

Have used the app for several years. I used to really like it. Seems to have significantly degraded over time with several updates. Not as user friendly and performance is pretty bad.
